As we like to describe it, the Utica College of Syracuse University campaign rocked the admissions world and put The College Street Group on the map. Various articles were written about our firm for this particular campaign that drew the attention of colleges around the nation. In the early 1990's, admissions offices were looking for a way to tap into the, then-dubbed "MTV generation". A typical search piece and viewbook with long paragraphs of copy would not hold the attention of college bound students who grew up on the quick-hitting MTV images of the day. With this challenge in mind, The College Street Group created a campaign that was visually exciting and supplied students and parents with bite-sized pieces of information on Utica College. The result was an instant success in the increase in Utica College's admission and instant critical acclaim, both positive and negative for The College Street Group. Accompanying the Utica College campaign was a piece designed for the Office of Financial Aid that stressed the importance of filling out and submitting financial aid forms on time. Each page had a contact number for the Utica College Financial Aid Office for help and each page stressed that there is money available,
if you meet the deadlines and the criteria. The piece was simple and had a significant impact with a vast majority of student's financial aid forms arriving before the designated deadline.
